JANA KOŠECKÁ - AUTHORITY IN AI Slovak world-class scientific capacity in the field of computer vision Brief introduction to the topic INTRODUCTORY DISCUSSION The future of industry is digital – and the role of the state is to be its accelerator. Supporting innovation through grants, tax breaks and investments in people and education is key. Only in this way can we create an environment where companies will grow faster, innovate more boldly and compete globally. Digital transformation is not an option, but a necessity – and the state should be a partner that moves it forward. DIGITAL REVOLUTION IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
Location: Victory Hall

We are experiencing the so-called "green" transition in the automotive industry, a regulated transition to electromobility. However, in parallel with this transition, another one is taking place - a revolution in the automotive industry, namely a digital one. This mainly includes the software factor as a basic defining element of new vehicles, which enables deeper and broader integration of various functions, including the so-called autonomous driving. Artificial intelligence and its use in both the industrial process and the product itself - the car - is becoming an equally important component. This digital revolution brings with it a number of challenges, opportunities, but also questions and potential risks. For the first time since the creation of the car, we have to talk about cybersecurity in connection with it. The integration of software with hardware itself is also a challenge, and many others. Do Slovak companies, large, medium, small and start-ups, have the opportunity to join this bandwagon? How? In what? What are the implications and possible impacts of this revolution in the automotive industry? What do we lack in Slovakia to fully utilize the potential of this revolution? And conversely, what are the best conditions for utilizing it? Is the state also prepared for this revolution? How does it want to limit its risks and utilize its opportunities? ROMAN KRAĽOVANSKÝ, Head of Production Group Kia Slovakia ZUZANA HOLÝ OMELKOVÁ, GAMO MILAN KERTÉSZ, Innovation project manager Schaeffler Kysuce KATARÍNA AUGUSTINI, Director General of the Strategy Section, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic DUŠAN KUNDRÁT, Huawei Moderator and expert guarantor: VILIAM OSTATNÍK
